Our Skin

What's inside?

The skin is the largest organ of our body being the barrier protecting the inside from the outside. A healthy skin mirrors our health from within.

The outer layers of our skin are the epidermis and dermis. Skincare has to breach the strong protective barrier of the horny surface of stratum corneum to reach the inner epidermis to be effective. The epidermis is connected to the dermis through the basal membrane.

The epidermis is a stack of distinct layers of continuously differentiating cells growing upwards to the outside of the body. These living cells secrete many important things to control the skin health as they grow upward until the nucleus of the cell is lost at the stratum corneum, the top layer when they become dead cells forming the protective barrier and to be shed off at the end. This epidermis cycle takes about 28 days.

The epidermis layer is about 0.05mm thinnest at the eyelids to 0.2mm thickest at the nasolabial areas of the face.

There is vast communication and signalling network at this junction between the dermis and epidermis. The dermis provides nutrition and oxygen to the epidermis to keep it healthy and growing.

We are a team of pharmacists who believe everyone deserves effective, safe, sustainable and affordable skincare. Good skincare is the mirror of good health. We relentlessly pursue for the best raw materials using the best formulation to get the best result for your skin.
